Teachers’ Day is celebrated to honour teachers for their guidance and contribution to society. It is also celebrated to commemorate the birthday anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who became the president of India in 1962. A teacher is a mentor, an educator, a motivator, a guide and a leader. He plays a very important role in a student’s life to shape him into a better person. Teachers’ Day was celebrated on September 5 in Shah Satnam Ji Boys’ School, Sirsa with pomp and grandeur. The program was held on the school stage which was beautifully decorated with flowers and festoons.
The Honourable Administrator Sir was invited as the chief guest of the programme. The function was started with paying tribute to the idol of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Then cake cutting ceremony was held followed by tree plantation by The Hon’ble Administrator Sir along with the team of teachers. After that Musical Chair game was organised. Mr. Rohin Sir was the winner of this game. Then Tug of War game was organised among Four Houses of the School. Shivaji House and Shaheed Bhagat Singh House jointly won this game. A Skit titled “Say No to Drugs” was also staged. Then a very funny game – ‘Blow the Balloons & Burst’ was organised. At the end of the programe, the honourable Administrator Sir delivered a vote of thanks and appreciated all the teachers for their hard work, dedication and their contribution to help the school achieve new heights. The program ended with the Head Boy thanking the teachers for their efforts in shaping the life of students and inspiring them.
